Technical University Of Mombasa

Now that KUCCPS application results are out, it is time to hear from the institution that considered you for a study program. If you have been selected to join the Technical University of Mombasa, popularly know as TUM, here is a comprehensive guide on how to retrieve your admission letter, joining instructions and fee structure.

What is an admission letter?

The Admission Letter is a document that indicates that you have been offered provisional admission into any degree program in a College or University. The document contains information about the school offered admission, the faculty/school/college, department, the degree you are pursuing, the duration of the course, fee structure and basically everything you need to know about your admission.

How do I download my Technical Of Mombasa admission letter?

  1. Confirm your admission status by logging in to your Kuccps Students portal. The procedure is available here.
  2. Visit the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) students portal Website  (https://eregistrar.tum.ac.ke/Campuscura/#login;TenantID=onpremise;Apply=false);
  3. Log in using your KCSE index number as user ID and Password. Click at “sign in”
  4. Navigate to the Admission Letter section to download and print your admission letter. Select “Download now”
  5. Download and print your admission letter; and
  6. Save and keep a copy of the same for your future use

Fee structure and payment

All fees and other charges are payable before the commencement of the academic year as per the respective fees structure.

The fees for all KUCCPS degree courses is KES 47,050. Practical/Labs/Workshop based programmes will be charged an extra fee of Kshs. 6,000.00 annually. The fee structure is attached below.

About Technical University Of Mombasa

Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) is a public university located in the coastal city of Mombasa, along Tom Mboya avenue. It has a long history dating back in the 1940s when it was founded as Mombasa Institute of Muslim Education (MIOME). It was awarded its charter in 2013 by-then president Mwai Kibaki. TUM has three campuses : Turdor Mombasa as the main campus,  Kwale and Lamu Campuses.

How do I do Course Transfer?

To do inter-faculty transfer, pleaseuse the following procedure :

  1. Check whether you meet the requirements of the course you want to transfer to
  2. Write a letter to the academic registrar through your Schools Dean explaining why you want to transfer and to which course
  3. You will pay a transfer fees of ksh. 1000 at the institution

Can I defer my Studies?

Yes, but you must write a letter to your academic register requesting for deferment. Otherwise, you’ll lose the opportunity to join the university as a GoK sponsored student.

When can one apply for a HELB Loan?

HELB places advertisements in the print media in which it invites applications for loans. The Board maintains a deadline and those applications received after the deadline without justifiable reasons are not processed.

The institution was started in 1981 as a Middle Level College (Jomo Kenyatta College of Agriculture and Technology (JKCAT)) by the Government of Kenya with the generous assistance from the Japanese Government.

On 1st September 1988, H.E. Daniel Arap Moi, declared JKCAT a constituent College of Kenyatta University through a legal Notice, under the Kenyatta University Act (CAP 210C). The name of JKCAT officially changed to Jomo Kenyatta University College of Agriculture and Technology (JKUCAT). It was finally established as a University through the JKUAT Act, 1994 and inaugurated on 7th December 1994.

Notable alumni include Dr. Paul Chepkwony, the first Governor of Kericho County in Kenya and a former lecturer, Emma Miloyo, a prominent Kenyan architect and the first female President of the Architectural Association of Kenya, as well as Aden Duale, the current Leader of Majority in the 11th Kenyan Parliament among others.

The university is situated in Juja, 36 kilometers northeast of Nairobi, along the Nairobi-Thika SuperHighway, off Exit 15.

How to download your Kuccps Admissions Letter

  1. Go to https://admission.jkuat.ac.ke/checkadmssion and Confirm if your admissions letter is ready.
  2. Enter your KCSE index number, followed by /YYYY when you sat for your KCSE. e.g 12345678910/2015
  3. Click “Confirm Your Admissions Letter to Proceed”. If your admissions letter is ready, note down your student’s registration number. Otherwise, wait for a few days and try again.
  4. Visit https://admission.jkuat.ac.ke/
  5. Sign up and login on this page. To sign up, you’ll be required to enter your Surname, other names, email, phone number, index number/year and type of sponsorship. To sign in, use the email address you provided earlier as your username, and the kcse index/year as your password.
  6. Update your Personal Details.
  7. Download your Admission Letter and Other documents indicated on Admission Letter.

  2. Move to ‘Prospective students’ submenu on the left and click ‘Admission letters (KUCCPS)’
  3. Log in with your Surname and Index Number.

    For example: If your Name is ODIEK CHEPKIRUI MWANAISHA and Index Number is 4040303030/2020, enter your login details as follows: Index : 4040303030/2020 and Username: Odiek
  4. Click ‘Submit’ 
  5. Download your letter and print. 
 On the left, click to download each of the following forms
  • Student personal details 
  • Medical biodata 
  • Letter of acceptance of offer
  • Letter of rejection or deferment of offer

About SEKU

The South Eastern Kenya University ( SEKU ) is a fully-fledged University and is the successor to the South Eastern University College (SEUCO) which was a Constituent College of the University of Nairobi. The university was awarded a Charter on 1st March, 2013 by immediate former President of Hon. Mwai Kibaki. The current student population stands at around 6,000 students.

  1. Confirm your SEKU admission via the KUCCPS students portal.
  2. Visit https://www.seku.ac.ke/index.php/admission-letters-download.html
  3. Enter your KCSE Index Number in the provided box above. Note: Do not include the K.C.S.E year. 
  4. Click the ‘Submit” button. 
  5. Click the “download” button to download and print your admission letter. 
The university requires you to share your current email address to enable you to receive other necessary information from time to time. The emails should be sent to admissions@seku.ac.ke

Location of the Main Campus

The main campus of Kenyatta University is at Kahawa, Nairobi County in Kasarani Constituency, approximately 18 kilometres (11 mi), by road, northeast of the central business district of Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya, off of the Nairobi-Thika Road.

  1. Go to https://admissionletters.ku.ac.ke/kuccps.php
  2. Enter your KCSE Index number and click Log in. Type it in the format XXXXXXXXXX/2019 where XXXXXXXXXX is the index number and 2019 is your KCSE year
  3. Click the Login button to proceed
  4. Navigate to the Admission Letter section to download and print your admission letter.

  1. Confirm your admission status here.
  2. Go to the student portal i.e. https://studentportal.mku.ac.ke/
  3. Go to applicants /new students
  4. Enter the application reference or the KCSE index no. followed by year e.g. 08237009083/2016
  5. Click generate applicant letter of offer.

Please note: Enter a valid Index number. If you cannot download your admission letter it could be that you have not been admitted at Egerton. Kindly check your Kuccps Students Portal to confirm your admission details.

Now that KUCCPS application results are out, it is time to hear from the institution that considered you for a study program. If you have been selected to join Moi University, here is a comprehensive guide on how to download your letter of admission, fee structure, and acceptance/deferment forms. 

Please NOTE that all incoming first years are required to download the signed admission letter online. Moi university does not POST any letters physically.

Admission Letters and fee structure

To download your Moi University admission letter, use the procedure outlined below:-
  1. Visit Moi University student’s Admission web portal via https://www.muwebportal.com
  2. Login using your email and password.
  3. Email: kcse_index_number@gmail.com - Your KCSE Index number @gmail.com and Password: ksce_index_number - Your KCSE Index number.

    For example:

    If your KCSE Index Number is 12345678910/2018 then the correct Credential for Login is as follows:
    Email      : 12345678910/2018@gmail.com (Note: there is no space between the slash[/] and 2017)

  4. Once Logged in Select, Admissions on the Sidebar
  5. Download your Admission Letter, Admission forms (Student Booklet) and the Fees structure). You may not be able to download your admission letter after login if you don’t update your profile. Updating your profile meaning editing and adding a working email address, your county and phone number.

Students are advised to change their default emails and passwords immediately after login.
For the subsequent logins please use the email (Valid email Address) and password you have changed to.

When should i pay the school fees?

Fees should be paid to your respective college, as indicated in your admission letter. Please note that the fees is payable at the beginning of every year or at the beginning of every semester. NO student shall be registered in the University without paying fees.

HELB places advertisements in the print media in which it invites applications for loans. The Board maintains a deadline and those applications received after the deadline without justifiable reasons are not processed. Needy students are advised to apply for a loan from the Higher Education Loans Board. Interested applicants may download HELB LOAN APPLICATION FORMS from HELB Website (www.helb.co.ke).

Moi University Admission Dates for KUCCPS students

Admission dates are indicated in your admission letters. Registration will commence at 8.00 am and all students are therefore advised to register at their respective centers as per the joining instructions.

How to apply for accommodation?

Please note that admission to this University does not automatically guarantee you a place in the Halls of Residence. Students who need accommodation are required to apply for the same by completing form MUJI/1C and also applying your room online at www.muhms.mu.ac.ke. Booking of rooms will be communicated via this portal . Ensure you create your account and wait for the booking process to begin.

If you are not offered a place in the Halls of Residence you will be required to make your own private arrangements.

Now that KUCCPS application results are out, it is time to hear from the institution that considered you for a study program. If you have been selected to join the University of Nairobi, here is a comprehensive guide on how to retrieve your registration number and download your admission letter.

How Download University of Nairobi Admission Letters

To download your University of Nairobi admission letter for the current academic year or any other year use the procedure below:-

  1. Download the list of students placed University of Nairobi from: KUCCPS Admission Lists 
  2. After downloading the pdf, search for your name and get your admission number also known as Registration Number.
  3. Now that you have your registration number; access UoN students portal via https://smis.uonbi.ac.ke
  4. Login to the portal. Enter your registration number ( retrieved above ) and Password. Use your National ID / Passport No, or KCSE Index No, or Registered Mobile No as your password.
  5. Download your admission letters and all related forms like letter of acceptance form (J1/1A), Medical Examination  form (J1/3), Accommodation form (J1/7A) e.tc
  6. Fees should be paid to your respective college, as indicated in your admission letter.
